CONCRETE – Sleeping Beauty
Bau Kunst Erfinden is part of the international Future Cities Laboratory FCL conference CONCRETE – SLEEPING BEAUTY on 26 November 2012 in Singapore.
Five projects will introduce and initiate a discussion on the state of the art of a century-long unchanged material use. Can we think of new application and production methodologies? Can concrete heal itself? Can it produce power? Can concrete be computated? Are there organic reinforcement possibilities?
Five international researchers from different backgrounds will showcase their work. They aim to change the way we think about the most used building material on the globe today.
The speakers will be
Francois Roche, New Territories, "Concrete Insurrection" (France and Thailand))
Matthias Kohler, Gramazio & Kohler, "Computated Concrete" (Switzerland)
Hendrik Jonkers, TU Delft, "Healing Concrete" (The Netherlands)
Thorsten Klooster, Bau Kunst Erfinden, "Electrifying Concrete" (Germany)
Dirk Hebel, ETHZ / FCL, "Bamboofying Concrete" (Switzerland and Singapore)
The event will be moderated by Stephen Cairns, Scientific Coordinator of Future Cities Laboratories Singapore.
Das Symposium wurde organisiert von Dirk E. Hebel, Chair of Architecture and Construction ETH Zürich/FCL Singapore, zusammen mit TEC21 and espazium Switzerland als Medienpartner.
